The heart and soul of the Slater’s Lane Foundation, our board members are dedicated to continuing Christopher Slater’s legacy.
Andrew O’Connell
President
Andy grew up with Chris in Brookfield, CT, and attended the same schools from as early as elementary school. Often overlapping in classrooms and social events, Chris and Andy became close friends heading into high school and remained close from there on. The impact that Chris had on Andy and the board, among many others, inspired them to continue his legacy through Slater’s Lane Foundation.
Andy is a Managing Director and Wealth Advisor at Cresset. In this role, he partners with families to navigate the complexities of managing generational wealth and develops customized strategies to help them achieve their goals. Andy and his wife Anna live in Greenwich, CT with their two children, Caden and Olivia.
Paul McCloskey
Treasurer
Paul grew up in the same town as Chris but didn’t become close friends until high school. One of Chris’s best qualities was listening, especially in one on one situations. He supported his friends in this way, and now his friends want to pay that forward and help support others, in Chris’s name and memory.
Paul is the Vice President of Business Development for Vantage Healthcare; a specialty physician practice focusing on post-acute care in approximately 200 facilities in MA, RI, NH, VT, and ME. Paul and his wife Kara reside in Belchertown, MA with their two children, Charlie and Bella.
Alexander Slater
Board Member
Alex is the proud twin brother of Chris Slater. Born with a best friend, Alex and Chris were similar and different in many ways. While Chris was Batman for Halloween, Alex was Spiderman. Chris played collegiate lacrosse, Alex was a radio DJ. However, they both attended the University of Connecticut, both found success in their careers in sales, and both, Chris in particular, did and do their best to represent the values their family is known for in Brookfield, CT.
Alex is a Literary Agent and Director of Children’s Books at Sanford J. Greenburger Associates in New York, NY. He lives in Wilton, CT with his wife Susan Thompson and their six year-old son Miles.
Nick Bonavita
Board Member
Nick moved to Brookfield, CT in high school and Chris was one of the first people to befriend him. Chris helped open doors to new friendships and experiences truly making him feel welcomed in a new world. Chris was magnetic, charismatic and full of life. He shared that energy with the people he loved; his friends want to ensure he remains a beacon for others through Slater’s Lane foundation.
Nick is the Regional Vice President of the East for Palm Bay International; a leading US wine and spirits importer. Nick married his high school sweet heart he met thanks to Chris, Lindsey. Nick and Lindsey reside in Holliston MA, sharing a love for dogs, travel, family and friends.
Victor Moro
Board Member
Victor first met Chris in third grade growing up in Brookfield, CT. Chris and Victor were close friends growing up. They were teammates on the high school football and lacrosse teams and also worked several different jobs together. One job Chris and Victor worked together in was a local daycare, which influenced Victor to pursue a career working with children.
Victor is a special education teacher that works primarily with students with autism, medical complexities and intellectual disability. Victor started his career as a special education teacher working with at-risk youth with complex trauma in the public, private and clinical settings. Victor resides in Southbury, CT with his wife Crystal and his two daughters, Alessa and Lianna.
